Dr. Andreas Kostenberger, professor of New Testament at Southeastern, has written a booklet entitled Is Christianity True? that answers many of the questions raised in The Da Vinci Code book and movie. It is well-researched and thoroughly documented but still written on an accessible level and would make a great book for a discussion group based on the book or movie. Your can download the entire volume, minus the cover, for free here. You may also purchase a hard copy of the book by calling the LifeWay Campus Store at Southeastern at 919-556-3481.
For a shorter introduction to the issues surrounding The Da Vinci Code, Dr. Kostenberger has also written a short devotional called "Tale of Our Times." You can download that here.
Dr. Maurice Robinson, professor of New Testament, delivered a paper at last year's annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society that made cogent and precise arguments for the integrity of the New Testament from the standpoint of textual criticism. You can download it here.
Even a cursory reading of The Da Vinci Code reveals a theme of pagan sexuality that occurs throughout the book. Ethics professor Daniel Heimbach has written a number of resources in this area, including a book, True Sexual Morality, which is available through the Crossway web site. You can also download a transcript of an interview with Dr. Heimbach and an article that recently appeared in The Religion & Society Report.

In February of 2006, Southeastern hosted its second 20/20 Collegiate Conference with the theme Gods of This Age. The keynote session of that conference was a discussion among four New Testament scholars on The Da Vinci Code and issues related to the reliability of the New Testament. Included on the panel was Southeastern's Andreas Kostenberger; Norman Geisler of Southern Evangelical Seminary; Richard Hays of Duke University; and Bart Ehrman of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
