Mark Driscoll Mark Driscoll is the founding pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Wash., which has been named one of the fastest-growing and most influential churches in America. In addition to his pastorate, Driscoll is president of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network, president of TheResurgence.com missional theology cooperative and author of The Radical Reformission and Confessions of a Reformission Rev. He is also one of five contributors to the book Listening to the Beliefs of Emerging Churches due out in January 2007 outlining the various theological streams of the emerging church on the issues of the Trinity, atonement and Scripture.
Ed Stetzer Ed Stetzer has planted churches in New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia and is the missiologist in residence at LifeWay and director of LifeWay Research. He has written and co-written several books including Planting New Churches in a Postmodern Age, Perimeters of Light: Biblical Boundaries for the Emerging Church and Breaking the Missional Code: Your Church can Become a Missionary in your Community.
Alvin Reid Alvin L. Reid serves as associate dean for proclamation studies and professor of evangelism at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Reid has written over two hundred publications including books and articles on evangelism, spiritual awakening and church growth. Currently, Reid is working on completion of three books, including Convergent Christianity with colleague Mark Liederbach. Reid also leads a ministry to college age and young professionals called Epicenter. In his spare time he enjoys playing with large reptiles and playing the bass guitar.
J.D. Greear J.D. Greear, lead pastor of the Summit Church in Durham, N.C., teaches the depths of Scripture while making the Gospel accessible to everyone. His church, affiliated with both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Acts 29 network, is committed to church-planting locally, domestically and internationally. Currently they have congregational plants in three states in America and four countries around the world. Hundreds of college students call the Summit their church home. Greear and the staff at the Summit are passionate about equipping this generation to reach the world.
Mark Liederbach Mark Liederbach serves as associate professor of Christian ethics at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the past, Liederbach has worked with Campus Crusade for Christ and Young Life. He is currently working on completing Convergent Christianity with colleague Alvin Reid.
Daniel L. Akin Daniel Akin has been president of Southeastern since January 2004. Known by many to embody the combination of a strong leader, scholar and evangelist, Akin has served as a pastor and authored numerous books and journal articles, including the popular God on Sex. Akin earned a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington.
John S. Hammett John S. Hammett has been a pastor, missionary and, for the last ten years, a professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of two articles and numerous book reviews on the emerging church, as well as the book, Biblical Foundations for Baptist Churches: A Contemporary Ecclesiology.
