Employment Services

The Student Employment Services Office at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary seeks to aid God-called men and women during their preparation to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission by assisting them in meeting their educational expenses via secular employment off campus and budget counseling.

  • Employment: See the Student Employment Services Office for current secular job openings in the surrounding community or visit the Student Services tab on CampusNet to view a brief list of current job postings. Current students are welcome to register with the Student Employment Services Offices by completing a Candidate Profile Form. Please bring the completed form by the office.
  • Talent Pool: Student Employment Services Office offers a Talent Pool listing with student’s talents/giftedness which is available to the SEBTS family as well as the surrounding Community. Please request the talent pool job list via email at smidkiff@sebts.edu; or stop by the Student Employment Services Office. To register your talents/giftedness in the talent pool database, please complete the Talent Pool Intake form. Email the completed form or drop the completed form by the Student Employment Services Office.
  • Financial Counseling: The Student Employment Services Office offers free budget counseling for current students. The model used in the Financial Counseling sessions is Crown Financial Ministries. The Director of Student Employment Services is a Certified Budget Counselor. Appointments are recommended for your convenience. Please email smidkiff@sebts.edu to set up a Financial Counseling meeting with the Director.
  • Businesses: The Student Employment Services Office will list your full-time, part-time, or seasonal position in our Current Job Listings database. Please complete the Position Description Form and then email it or bring it by the Student Employment Services Office for more information.

Contact us: Please contact the Student Employment Services Office located on the first floor of the Ledford Student Center or current students can email smidkiff@sebts.edu for further information regarding the current job postings listed on Blackboard under the Student Services tab.  Please include your name, Student ID number, the job category and the job id # in the body of all emails.

How do I begin my Job Search?
Please come by the Student Employment Services Office and register with our office to begin the job search process.

Do I have to be accepted and living in the area before I can begin my job search?

Yes

Does the Student Employment Services Office list On Campus positions?

No, The Human Resources Department handles on campus inquires.

Do I need an appointment to review current job postings?

Usually, an appointment is not required depending on the time of the school year.

Does the Student Employment Services Office handle ministry positions?

No, the Student Employment Services Office handles secular employment opportunities; the Ministry Referral Office handles inquires regarding ministry positions.

What is the Talent Pool?

We are glad that you asked! Do you have a skill you would like to market while you are here at school? You may choose to be put on a list to be called by folks who need some yard work or miscellaneous odd jobs performed on a short-term basis; maybe you could tutor during the afternoons, or baby-sit, or do some sewing. If you have a talent for sale/hire, then the Student Employment Services Office can help!

What happens after I complete the Talent Pool Intake form?

Your talent information will then be entered into a database. Whenever an inquiry comes from someone on-campus or in town requesting the type of service for which you have a talent, the Student Employment Services Office will provide your name and contact information. Then, the interested party will call you!

Who may sign up for the Talent Pool?

Current students, your spouse and children may list their talents.
