How to Get Started with Veteran Affairs
Use the GI Bill® comparison tool to compare the amount of funding you are eligible to receive toward tuition, fees and books at different schools. Veterans are encouraged to apply with the VA using their online application. This will allow you to submit your application electronically for the fastest response.

Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill®: Current/Former Active Duty
For those who have served and paid into the Montgomery GI Bill®.
Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation
For those who have received a minimum percentage of disability with Veteran Affairs. Provides funding for tuition and fees, books and subsistence.
Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill®
For those who have served at least 90 days of aggregate active duty service after September 10, 2001. For those who qualify, Veteran Affairs provides funding for tuition and fees, books and housing.
Chapter 35 Survivors/Dependents Educational Assistance
For those dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. Veteran Affairs provides limited funding for tuition and fees to those who qualify.
Chapter 1606 MGI Bill®: Selected Reserve
For reservists approved by their unit. Veteran Affairs will provide a limited amount of funding for tuition and fees.

In an effort to show our appreciation, we offer a military tuition rate to qualified active-duty members and veterans.

*Cost per credit hour.
Application Process
To qualify for the military tuition rate, a student must be an active-duty, honorably-discharged or other than dishonorably-discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. Students receiving the SBC tuition rate are ineligible for the military tuition rate and vice versa.
Deadlines for Application Submission
- Fall semester: July 15th
- Spring semester & January term: November 15th
- Summer terms: April 15th
All paperwork must be turned in by the above dates to receive the military tuition rate.
Apply For Military Tuition
After applying and being accepted to SEBTS, you will need to complete the military tuition rate request form. Submit your completed request form as well as one of the following documents by the deadline stated above. Due to government regulations we are unable to accept military identification cards for verification of military service.

Tuition Assistance
Southeastern no longer accepts federal Tuition Assistance (TA) due to newer government regulations. This change will not affect GI Bill® benefits, which are processed through the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
