Church Partners

Partnering with Local Churches to Equip Students

"As part of our mission to serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission, Southeastern seeks to partner with the local church, local associations, and state conventions in equipping, sending, and supporting their people to reach their communities and the nations for Christ. We believe that we serve local churches best by equipping biblically faithful and theologically grounded students who are passionate about the Great Commission. Central to accomplishing this mission is training church and ministry leaders to teach God’s word, make disciples, and mobilize their churches for the glory of King Jesus. We would love to talk with you about how Southeastern can partner with you."
- President Danny Akin

Sending

Churches have a unique opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission by partnering with Southeastern in sending students to pursue theological education. By encouraging members to study at Southeastern, churches invest in the formation of well-equipped pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders. As students immerse themselves in robust theological training, they return better prepared to serve and lead their congregations, ultimately strengthening the local and global church.

Equipping

In addition to sending students, churches can partner with Southeastern by working together to equip students through various forms of theological education, whether on-campus, via distance learning, or directly within the local church.

Resources

Southeastern offers churches a range of resources to strengthen and support their ministries. Through accessible theological training, conferences, and workshops, Southeastern equips church leaders and congregations with tools to deepen their biblical understanding and sharpen their ministry skills. Additionally, Southeastern provides online resources, such as sermons, articles, and courses, that pastors and ministry leaders can use for discipleship and teaching within their own contexts.

For Pastors & Church Leaders

Support

Churches can support Southeastern financially, recognizing the strategic role these institutions play in raising up the next generation of gospel-centered leaders. Through gifts to the Cooperative Program and other designated contributions, churches help make theological education more accessible, especially for students from SBC-affiliated churches, who attend at a fraction of the cost. Financial support from local churches not only sustains Southeastern but also directly impacts the growth and health of the local and global church, ensuring that committed and trained leaders are sent out to serve the mission of God.

  • "Southeastern’s vision and commitment to raising up the next generation of pastors and leaders devoted to the Great Commission is inspiring, and we’re thrilled to support the ongoing work!"
